In 1962 my interest was in horses and riding with my friends

On June 23, 1962, at the age of twelve, I had decided to ride in the Claremont Jubilee Celebration Parade. Early that morning I saddled up my horse (the family horse) and started off for Claremont. I eventually met up with some of my friends that also rode. I'm not sure who is riding with me in the parade. I am guessing that Elmer Roelf is one of the other guys in the picture along with Ronnie and Raymond Symens. The Symens boys had a "paint" palomino pony, so I'm thinking one of them is riding the horse behind me.

June 23, 1962, I road my horse six miles to be in the Claremont Jubilee Parade. This is the only picture I have of this event. My dog followed me to Claremont that day. The dogs presence with me caught the attention of the photographer or the newspaper writer.
